Kohima, Jun 12 (UNI) BJP's national vice-president Jual Oram today claimed that the situation of the ruling UPA at the Centre was ''very miserable'', which may collapse at any time.

Mr Oram said the internal differences among the allies of the UPA was growing day by day and was in a fragile stage.

He said the infighting among the UPA allies intensified due to inflation and price hike of essentials.

Mr Oram, also an MP, said the wrong policies of the Congress party was the root cause of inflation and price hike of all commodities, including petroleum.

When asked the reason of his visit to Nagaland, he said that he was sent by the central BJP leaders to mediate grievances of some of the party workers here.

However, he assured that he would come again by next month and settle all the problems. On the question of contesting the Rajya Sabha elections for the lone seat of Nagaland, Oram said that he met Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio yesterday and during the discussions on policy matters for delivering goods for the public, he also requested Rio to give the Rajya Sabha seat to the BJP and Mr Rio had said he will think on it. He said the Nagaland peoples Front (NPF), the major alliance in the ruling Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN), is likely to field their own candidate.

On the outcome of the March 5 last Assembly elections in Nagaland, Oram said he was satisfied with two seats, out of 23 candidates due to the situation prevailing during the elections.

Although he did not mention the involvement of underground cadres during the election, he said most of their candidates became victim of the situation during election time.
