Industrial output for April rises 7%
New Delhi, June 12 (UNI) Industrial output of the country rose seven per cent during the month of April, up from three per cent recorded in March.
According to Index of Industrial Production (IIP) data, the industrial output was 11.3 per cent during April 2007.
The manufacturing production rose 7.5 per cent in April whereas it was 2.9 per cent in March and 12.4 per cent in April 2007.
Industrial output rose 8.1 per cent in April07-March08 as against 11.6 per cent in 2006-07.
IIP compares the growth in the general level of industrial activity in the economy with reference to a comparable base year.
