Illicit liquor seized in Andaman

Port Blair, Jun 12 (UNI) Police seized a large consignment of illicit liquor here today and arrested four persons.

Superintendent of Police (CID) V Ranganathan told UNI "We recovered 14 tubes containing about 980 bottles of illicit liquor kept on the body of a truck covered with tarpaulin in Port Blair. A case under excise regulation has been registered." The four persons were arrested for transporting the illicit liquor.

Acting on a tip-off, the Central Crime Station (CCS) had initiated search at various entry points of the city resulting in the seizure, the SP added.
