Gujjar-State Govt talks in Jaipur tomorrow; Gujjars reach Jaipur
Jaipur, Jun 12 (UNI) The second round of talks between the agitating Gujjar leaders and Rajasthan government over the ST status demand will be held here tomorrow morning, an official spokesperson said today.
Since the Gujjar leaders reached here from Pillukapura late this evening, the second round of talks will begin in the Harish Chandra Mathur Institute of Public Administration premises at 1030 hrs tomorrow, he added.
A delegation of 28 Gujjar leaders arrived here from Pillukapura by a special bus and cars .
The first round of talks between the Gujjar leaders and state government was held on Monday in Bayana.
The state government had constituted a joint delegation of politicians and senior bureaucrats to hold the talks.
Two Cabinet Ministers Laxmi Narain Dave and Sanwar Lal Jat, BJP state President and sitting MP Om Prakash Mathur, BJP Treasurer Rajya Sabha MP Ramdas Agrawal, Senior IAS Officers S N Thanvi, Sunil Arora and Ms Malvika Panwar are inducted in the official delegation for talks.
While Mr Thanvi had been supervising at Bayana, the state government dealing with the agitation since its launching on May 23. Mr Arora and Ms Panwar presently hold posts of secretary in CMO and the Social Justice Department respectively.
The decks for further talks after a gap of two days were cleared after the grant of bail to 25 women protesters arrested for ''damaging railway property and blocking Delhi-Jaipur rail route near Bandikui''.
Additional District and Session Judge Dausa Bhuvan Goyal today granted bail to the accused 25 women in the case under Section 150, 151 and 152 of the Railway Act.
Earlier, their bail applications were rejected yesterday by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Bandikui on the ground of lack of jurisdiction.
Rajasthan High Court today issued show cause notices to officials including the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police in a contempt of court petition.
The petition filed by a Meena activist prayed the court to take action against the officials for their ''failure in taking appropriate action'' to ensure normal life in the state during Gujjar agitation.
