Farmers' rallies to mark implementation of loan waiver scheme in AP
Hyderabad, June 11 (UNI) On a call given by the All India Congress Committee (AICC), Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed the ministers in-charge of districts in the state to hold big farmers' rallies in all the district headquarters on June 23 to mark the implementation of the Centre's Rs 72,000 crore loan waiver scheme.
State Information Minister A Ramanarayana Reddy told reporters after a Cabinet meeting that the Chief Minister wanted the ministers in charge to review and supervise the implementation of the scheme and ensure selection of all eligible farmers by coordinating with District Collectors, managers of leading banks, Regional Rural Banks and Cooperative banks.
The Chief Minister also directed them to ensure that between July one and 10, 'no due certificates' are distributed to eligible farmers and disburse a cheque for Rs 5000 to every farmer who was not covered under the Central scheme.
At the state level, Finance Minister K Rosaiah would hold a meeting to ensure that the scheme was implemented without giving room for complaints, he said.
