AP: BJP demands suspension of official

Hyderabad, Jun 11: Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Ch Vidyasagar Rao today demanded that the Andhra Pradesh Government suspend Irrigation Secretary Adityanath Das for alloting municipal land to Metapalli MLA K Ramulu and order an inquiry into the transfer of land without issuing a Government Order.

Addressing the media here, Mr Rao said the official issued memo, reconveying the one-acre land to the MLA that was once in the name of his mother. The land was acquired by the Government 40 years ago and quarters under the Sri Ram Sagar Project were constructed. The land, in which the quarters were constructed, was then handed over to the municipality.

Alleging that the Government had reconveyed the land without following the rules, he said the lands acquired by the Government should not be given back to its original owners.
