Heavy rains likely in Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka, Gujarat
Pune, Jun 9 (UNI) Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka and many parts of south Gujarat.
Heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, west Uttar Pradesh, south Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, north Gujarat, north Madhya Maharashtra, south interior Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, few places in Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu, north interior Karnataka, isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan.
The southwest monsoon has further advanced into some parts of north Arabian sea, southern most parts of Gujarat, entire Konkan, Goa, north interior Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Bay of Bengal, some more parts of Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, southern parts of Chattisgarh, Orissa, Gangetic West Bengal and Bihar and remaining parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal.
Also conditions are favourable for further advance of the southwest monsoon into some more parts of north Arabian sea, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Orissa, Bihar, Jharkhand and remaining parts of Andhra Pradesh and Gangetic West Bengal within next two-three days.
Heavy rains have occurred at most places in Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, many places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Madhya Maharashtra.
Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Lakshadweep , many places in Assam, Meghalaya, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, few places in Orissa, Jharkhand, west Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Marathwada, Telangana and interior Karnataka.
Mainly dry weather prevailed in Punjab.
Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in Kashmir, where the southwest monsoon is yet to set in. They were appreciably to markedly below normal in northwest Orissa, west Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu, east Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, north Chattisgarh, some parts of Bihar, and west Madhya Pradesh. They were below normal in Himachal Pradesh, some parts of west Rajasthan, and in remaining parts of west Madhya Pradesh. They were normal over the rest of the country.
