Doctor commits suicide in NIMS hospital

Hyderabad, Jun 9 (UNI) A senior resident Microbiologist from Karnataka was found dead in his hostel room at Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) Hospital today.

Police said Jagadish Patil, who joined NIMS on contract a year ago, allegedly committed suicide in his hostel room where some syringes and drugs were found.

When the doctor did not come out of his room, his roommates broke open the door to find Dr Jagadish dead. He got married only three months ago.

The body was shifted to the Gandhi Hosptial for post-mortem. A case was registered and investigation launched into his death.

Police suspect that family disputes might be the reason behind his extreme step.
