UP minister charged with murder of cope

{image-jamuna nishad_08062008.jpg news.oneindia.in}New Delhi, June 8: jamuna Nishad, a cabinet minister in Mayawati's cabinet in Uttar Pradesh was charged with murder on Sunday. Mr Nishad, who holds the Fisheries portfolio in cabinet – was arrested for murder of a police constable by one of his supporters.According to reports, Nishad along with his supporters on Saturday night stormed the Maharajganj Police Station in Gorakhpur to protest against alleged police inaction in a case involving the rape of a girl from the Nishad community. An altercation soon broke out between the policemen and the Minister's supporters who thrashed the policemen and also allegedly damaged property of the police station.The fight took an ugly turn and Nishad's supporters allegedly shot a constable to death.
