Woman accomplice of Punjab militants arrested
Ludhiana, June 7 (UNI) The police today took into custody a woman accomplice of the three suspected Punjab militants who were arrested in Jammu and Kashmir alongwith arms and ammunation early this week.
The militants identified as Surjit Singh, Malkiat Singh and Hardev Singh, belonging to Barnala district in Punjab had procured the weapons for assassinating Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda chief Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. The consignment comprised five pistols and one AK-47, besides a huge quantity of ammunition and other incriminating materials.
Police sources said that the woman, identified as 32-year old Ranjit Kaur, was taken into custody from Khamano town by a police party of Ludhiana Rural police district. The extent of the woman's involvement with the three suspected militants was being investigated, police officials claimed.
