Trinamool bandh fails to impact life in Tripura

Agartala, Jun 06 (UNI) As many as 80 picketers of Trinamool Congress and SUCI were arrested today in different parts of Tripura during the 12-hour AITC-sponsored general strike to protest the hike in fuel prices.

The bandh, which followed a similar agitation yesterday by the ruling Left Front on the same issue, failed to impact life.

Police said the arrests were made because the activists were trying to paralyse public life.

All India Trinamool Congress Tripura Chairman Arun Chandra Bhowmik said they took out processions in support of their demand for a rollback of fuel price.
