Rupee gains by eight paise at 42.80/82 against per USD

Mumbai, Jun 6: Rupee today resumed firm at 42.80/82 against per US Dollar with a modest gain of eight paise from it last close of 42.90/92, on fresh dollar selling by foreign banks.

Rupee nudged higher in the morning session on hopes that the central bank would soon start providing foreign exchange to oil companies, easing demand for dollars from refiners, dealers said.

Later, Rupee was traded between 42.74 and 42.85 per dollar during the mid-morning session.
