Lakshmibai's death anniv to be observed in MP

Gwalior, Jun 6: BJP President Rajnath Singh will be the chief guest at a two-day fair, beginning in this citadel town on June 17 to observe the 150th anniversary of Jhansi's Rani Lakshmibai who made the supreme sacrifice here on June 18, 1858.

''The Veerangana Lakshmibai Samman 2008 will be conferred on actress Smriti Irani for her work relating to women's awareness,'' Veerangana Balidan Mela Founder-Chairman and former MP Jaibhan Singh Pawaiyya told mediapersons here.
