12 of a family injured in accident

Karnal, Jun 6 (UNI) Twelve members of a family, including five children, sustained serious injuries, when the jeep in which they were travelling rammed into a stationed truck on NH-1 near Nilokheri today.

The family, which belonged to Patel Nagar of Delhi, were returning from Vaishno Devi, Jammu when their jeep rammed into the truck which was stationed in the middle of the road.

The driver of the jeep, Gopal is said to be in a very critical condition while five children, Ankush (6), Simran (10), Shalu (3), Shalu (10) and Sunder (6) are also serious. All the injured have been admitted to Civil Hospital Karnal.

Police has registered a case against the driver of the truck, who absconded from the spot immediately.

The accident resulted in a jam of about one hour.
