Woman deliver baby on road, nurses suspended
Mandsaur, June 5 (UNI) Two nurses have been suspended on the charge of forcing a woman to vacate the bed and deliver her child on road outside Garoth Hospital here, official sources said today.
Geeta Bai(30) with her husband arrived at the hospital from her Gopaltank village by covering 7 km from motorcycle on May 21 to deliever her first child. She was admitted in the hospital but was asked by the nurses to vacate the bed on May 25 on the pretext that Geeta had still more time for delievery.
Nowhere to go, the exepectant mother gave birth the child on the raod. Seeking the gravity of the situation local media and people made a fuss and readmitted her in the hospital. The newly born died today.
District's Chief Medical Officer Pramila Rathore suspended Runa Balot and Ranjita Solanki on immediate effect for carelessness in their duty yesterday.
