President to honour children with Bal Shree Scheme

{image-Pratibha+Patil1_05062008.jpg news.oneindia.in}New Delhi, Jun 5: Fifty children have been selected for the National Bal Bhavan's Bal Shree Scheme, for demonstrating creative excellence in their respective fields.

They will be honoured by President Pratibha Patil at a ceremony in the Rashtrapati Bhawan on June 10. The scheme is awarded to children, within the age group of nine to 16, in four creative areas--art, performance, scientific innovations and writing. The scheme, started in 1995, aims to identify, nurture and honour children for their creativity, spread awareness about creativity as a personality development trait among teachers, parents and the community and provide opportunities for research work on creativity.
