TN: Fee structure for eng coures in pvt colleges

Chennai, Jun 5: The Justice Balasubramanian Committee, appointed by the Tamil Nadu Government, today announced the fee structure for 2008-09 Engineering courses in self-financing colleges.

The committee, headed by Justice (retd) N V Balasubramanian, fixed the fee structure for students seeking admission under management and government quotas after holding talks with heads of self-financing colleges, education experts and general public, an official release here said.

The annual fee would be Rs 62,500 for those seeking admission other than single window system (SWS) of Anna University and Rs 40,000 for admissions through the SWS.

Those taking up non-accredited courses, through the SWS, would have to pay an annual fee of Rs 32,500, it said, adding the fee structure for students seeking admission through SWS was same as last year.

Like last year, the self-financing colleges would have to set apart 65 per cent of the seats for government quota, retaining 35 per cent for management quota. In case of minority institutions, the quota would be 50:50.
