CPM observes 'bandh' to protest petroleum products prices hike
Nashik, Jun 5 (UNI) The ''bandh'' called by the Communist Party-Marxist (CPM) to protest against hike in prices of petroleum products, received a mixed response here today.
A rally was taken out in the central part of the city. The Communist Party India (CPI), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Dalit Panther and Janata Dal (Secular) also extended support to the ''bandh''.
In CIDCO area of the city, the bandh received good response and most shops remained closed. An incident of stone pelting at a bus was reported from the area. In the Satpur suburbs, some unidentified youths hurled stones and damaged four buses.
The ''bandh'' was observed in other parts of the district too. In Chandwad, Kalwan and Deola talukas and at Borgaon in Surgana taluka, ''rasta rokos'' were staged. There was a total ''bandh'' in Peth, Harsul and Surgana talukas.
