Inflation: MP CM slams Centre, says Cong have to 'pay the price'
Shivpuri, MP, Jun 4 (UNI) Slamming the Centre's Congress-led United Progressive Alliance regime for the galloping inflation, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said the Congress would have to ''pay the price'' in future.
''By hiking petroleum products' prices, the Centre has done the work of enhancing the price hike. The poor and common man will have to toil harder for 'dal roti','' he said, while addressing a 'Panch Sarpanch Kisan Mahila Sammelan' in this district's Kolaras.
Pointing out that the state government was desirous that the poor received adequate foodgrain, Mr Chouhan added that the Annapurna Yojana envisaged distribution of wheat at Rs 3 per kg and rice at Rs 4.5 per kg subject to a monthly ceiling.
''Madhya Pradesh's people will soon be liberated from inferior quality red wheat (supplied by the Centre under the Public Distribution System) as the state's better-quaity wheat will be made available,'' he assured, while calling for greater participation of women in elections.
