S Majumdar assumes additional charge as CMD, Powergrid

New Delhi, Jun 3 (UNI) Mr S Majumdar, Director (Projects) of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (POWERGRID), will hold additional charge as Chairman and Managing Director of the navratna PSU.

Dr R P Singh relinquished charge after being at the helm of the company for 12 years.

Mr Majumdar took additional charge on May 30 for a period of three months or until further orders. He has been Director (Projects) of POWERGRID since September 27, 2005 during his more than three decade's old experience in different power sector utilities such as NTPC and DVC. A mechanical engineer from Calcutta University, Mr Majumdar holds Diploma in General Management from Delf University, Netherlands and Diploma in Public Sector Management from Bradford University, U.K.
