Reference rate fixed 29 paise higher at Rs 42.53 per USD

Mumbai, June 3 (UNI) Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today fixed the reference rate for US Dollar at Rs 42.53 per unit, 29 paise higher, from the previous day's level of Rs 42.24 per USD.

The exchange rates for Pound and Japanese Yen against the Rupee were quoted higher at Rs 83.4417 (83.2636) per Pound and Rs 40.86 (40.09) per 100 units respectively, a RBI release said here.
