NFADE withdraw strike after minister's assurance
New Delhi, Jun 3 (UNI) The National Federation of All India Radio and Doordarshan Employeess has withdrawn its call for today's strike after an assurance by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi to settle their demands soon.
Federation Secretary Anil Kumar said here that the decision to defer the one day 'tool down' was taken after a meeting with the Minister late last night.
Mr Dasmunsi told them that the Group of Minister on the Prasar Bharati would hold its meeting soon and resolve all issues within two months.
About 40,000 employees of AIR and Doordarshan are agitating for restoration of the original character of their organisation.They want that the fund-starved Prasar Bharati Corporation should be wound up and they should revert to their status as government employees.
