MP Health Minister's resignation accepted

Bhopal, Jun 3 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Governor Balram Jakhar accepted Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi's resignation with immediate effect here today, official sources said.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan forwarded the resignation to the Governor this morning and after Mr Chouhan's approval, Dr Jakhar accepted it.

The resignation was tendered in the wake of the massive raids by the Income Tax department over alleged irregularities in the Health department recently.

The income tax raids were also conducted at the premises of Mr Vishnoi's brother and Madhya Pradesh State Small Industries Corporation Managing Director Abhay Vishnoi and other builders on May 30.

A large scale of assets disproportionate to their known sources of income were found in the raids.
