Mayawati refuses action against police officials in Aarushi case
Lucknow, Jun 3 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today refused to take any action against the police officials, who were transferred on Sunday for an''uninfluenced'' CBI probe into the Aarushi-Hemraj murder case.
'' When the CBI has taken up the case then why the opposition parties are demanding action against the state police officials'', she questioned while assuring that if CBI probe hints anything against these officials, the state government would not waste a second in taking action against them.
Talking to mediapersons here, Ms Mayawati said opposition parties should stop commenting on the role of the state police officials in the case till the CBI completes its investigation.
Her reaction came in the wake of Union Minister for Women and Child Welfare Renuka Choudhury's demand to initiate legal action against the police officials, who had tried to tarnish the image of a Aarushi in the case.
On Sunday, UP government had transferred IG (Meerut zone), DIG (Meerut range) and SSP Gautam Buddha Nagar after the CBI took over the murder case. The CM had said that the transfers were made to prevent these officials in from influencing the CBI investigation.
