Lawyers on strike over colleagues murder

Kanpur, Jun 3: Advocates today went on strike and dismissed court's working in protest against the murder of a senior lawyer in Babu Purwa labour colony in this industrial city.

At a Bar association meeting here, the advocates condemned the brutal murder of Ram Chand Bajpai. They also observed a two- minute silence and paid rich tributes to the departed soul.

The strike posed problems for the people, who visited the court for the hearing of their cases or related work.

Senior lawyer Ram Chand Bajpai and former claim officer of north east raiway in Kanpur was found dead this morning at his residence.

Senior police officials reached the murder site.

An Investigation was underway.
