Telgi's hearing posted to June 23
Bangalore, Jun 2 (UNI) The Special Court, trying the multi-crore stamp paper scam involving main accused Abdul Karim Telgi, today conducted a trial through video conferencing and posted the case to June 23.
Telgi, who was lodged in high-security Central Jail at Parappanahara in the outskirts of the city, was tried by Judge S S Murgod, in connection with a criminal case registered in 2001, through video conferencing. He faces at least eight cases in Karnataka.
Telgi, however, refused to answer most of the questions in the absence of his counsel Shankarappa.
He was brought to the city from Yarawada Jail in Pune under tight security yesterday and housed in a cell at the Central Jail at Parappana Agrahara on the outskirts of Bangalore. The Cell was barricaded and CCTV was installed to keep a close watch on Telgi.
