Steps on to ensure proper supply of petrol, diesel: CM

Puducherry,Jun 2 (UNI) The Puducherry Administration was taking steps to ensure proper supply of petrol and diesel to consumers and there was no scarcity, Chief Minister N Rangasamy said here today.

Talking to newspersons after a high-level meeting,Mr Rangasamy said there were 56 petrol bunks in Puducherry.

On news about rise in fuel prices, people panicked and rushed to the outlets to stock more petrol and diesel creating shortage.

He had taken up the matter with the authorities concerned and 20 loads of petrol were being despatched to Puducherry.

Earlier,the Chief Minister held a meeting with the sales managers of Indian Oil Corporation(IOC),Hindustan Petroleum(HP) and Bharat Petroleum (BP) besides Director and Deputy Director of Civil supplies Department and the Superintendent of Police (Food Cell).
