Southwest monsoon advances further
Pune, June 2 (UNI) The southwest monsoon has further advanced into south interior Karanataka, some parts of north interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, north Bay of Bengal, most parts of Rayalaseema, west central Bay of Bengal, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya and entire Arunachal Pradesh.
Rain or Thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Andhra Pradesh, coastal and south interior Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar, Lakshadweep, few Places Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, south Konkan, Goa, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka, isolated places in Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, north Konkan, south Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.
Mainly dry weather is likely to prevail in Gujarat and Madhya Maharashtra.
Heat wave conditions prevailed at isolated places in south Gujarat. The day temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in the regions where the southwest Monsoon is yet to set in.
They were appreciably to markedly above normal in Madhya Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Telangana, some parts of north Gangetic West Bengal and north coastal Andhra Pradesh.
They were above normal in Sub-Hinalayan West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Saurashtra, north Konkan, Marathwada and some parts of north interior Karnataka. They were appreciably to markedly below normal in Haryana, south Punjab, north east Rajasthan and some parts of southwest Rajasthan and were below normal in northwest Madhya Pradesh, some parts of north Gujarat. They were normal over the rest of the regions.

Mainly dry weather prevailed in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar and east Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada.
