M Damodaran new CRA in India for ING Group

Mumbai, Jun 2: Former Chairman of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), M Damodaran has been appointed Chief Representative and Advisor (CRA) in India of the global investment banking firm ING. In this newly created non executive role, Mr Damodaran will work with the management and partners of both ING's Banking, Insurance and Investment business units, to further expand its position in the financial services sector in India, the firm said in a statement here today.

Eli Leenaars, a member of the executive board for ING Group, co-ordinating overall India strategy, said that Mr Damodaran's distinguished career along with his wide network of relationships in the Indian financial sector, makes him a valuable addition to ING.

His recognised expertise will significantly contribute to the execution of our growth strategy in India, Leenaars added.
