Mumbai, Jun 2 (UNI) City Police Commissioner Hasan Gafoor today said legal opinion on the scripts of the speech of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chief Raj Thackeray was still awaited from the Law and Judiciary Department.

Speaking at a function organised here by Crime Reporters Association here, Mr Gafoor said ''We have already sent a report to the state Law and Judiciary Department through the home department for their opinion, but till date we have not received their opinion.'' Mr Gafoor said the department have sought opinion on whether action can be taken against Mr Thackeray under section 153 (a) or not. He, however, said it is a lengthy procedure and will take some time.

On being asked whether permission will be given to perform 'Chhat Puja' in the city, the commissioner said, ''Let application for permission come, then we will be decide on it.'' Mr Gafoor told newspersons that since he took over charge on February 29, only four major incidents have occurred in the city.
