IT dept investigation of former Health Director completed

Bhopal, June 2 (UNI) The Income Tax department has completed its investigation into documents seized during raids on the premises of former Health Director Yogiraj Sharma and confirmed that assets to the tune of Rs 100 crore were accumulated disproportionate to his known sources of income.

IT Director General (Investigation) S S Rana told reporters here today that the department has informed the government about its findings.

The IT department had seized more than Rs one crore and documents related to other assets during raids at offices and premises of the former Health Director. Besides, several documents were seized from several other people related to him.

Mr Sharma was removed from his post and later compulsorily retired after the raids.
