9 police personnel awarded out-of-turn promotions in J
Srinagar, Jun 2 (UNI) Nine police personnel of the Jammu and Kashmir police were given out-of-turn promotions for killing militants in the Kashmir valley.
A police spokesman said Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda today gave promotion letters at a function.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Khoda said that the out of turn promotion is in recognition of the work of police personnel who eliminated militants in the valley without causing any damage to property or injury to any civilian.
He said police was now doing surgical operations with minimum collateral damage.
Among the nine officials promoted, five belonged to Srinagar police, two each to Awantipora and Budgam.
