Serafin gives statement against controversial swami
Kochi, May 31 (UNI) Police today took further statements from Serafin Edwin, the Dubai-based businesswoman, who was allegedly cheated of around Rs 40 lakh by self-styled godman Swami Amritachaithanya alias Santhosh Madhavan.
Ms Edwin, who came here this afternoon, gave statements relating to the cheating case to Central Zone IG Vinson M Paul and City Police Commissioner Manoj Abhraham, police said.
Later, police questioned Madhavan in the presence of Ms Edwin.
Speaking to reporters, Ms Edwin said she had given statements againstt the 'swami' and his accomplice Saifudeen Alikanu, and furnished details relating to the payments made to Madhavan.
A police team led by Ernakulam North Circle Inspector Suneesh Babu had taken statements from Ms Edwin yesterday at her residence in Thiruvananthapuram.
Madhavan, who is presently in police custody, was arrested by police on May 13 after Ms Edwin filed a complaint against him.
