Printing work of School Education Department to M P Textbook Corp
Bhopal, May 31 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government has approved the proposal to entrust responsibility of all printing work of the School Education Department to Madhya Pradesh Textbook Corporation.
As per the decision taken during the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today, the corporation would purchase paper to be used for printing.
Significantly, the Textbook Corporation is conducting its works through the funds raised by it and does not require financial help from either the Centre or the state government, an official release said.
Besides, the corporation is run on 'no profit, no loss' basis.
Despite this, the corporation is earning profit for the last many years due to tough fiscal administration and efficient financial management.
Printing rates of the corporation would be economical since it has got full exemption from central production cess. In the open market, this rate is 16 per cent. The corporation also gets 12.5 per cent central rebate on the purchase of paper which is not available even to the Government Press.
This decision would not only lead to saving on expenditure in printing work of the School Education Department but would also ensure quality control of educational material, the release added.
