Kannur airport on BOO model

Thiruvananthapuram, May 31 : The Kerala Cabinet granted permission for the fourth airport in the state today in Kannur.

The proposed airport in Kannur in north Kerala will be developed on Build, Operate and Own or BOO model.

Chief Minister Mr. V. S. Achuthanandan told reporters that the partner for building the Greenfield airport would be selected through transparent bidding.

Kannur Airport is expected to provide a major boost to the Malabar, North Kerala in terms of business, in terms of tourism revenue and help its thriving textile industry.

Kannur is one of the eight best textile centers in India
