Kalam calls for focus on core areas
Thiruvananthapuram, May 31 (UNI) Former President A P J Abdul Kalam today said certain core areas, including agriculture, health and information and communication technology, need to be developed to achieve a distinctive profile by India by 2020.
Speaking at a function 'Space Salute,' organised by Asianet and Malayalam TV channel, in collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to felicitate scientists who were part of the successful PSLV-C9 programme, he said distribution of reliable and quality of electric power, surface transport infrastructure and creation of waterways were the other areas should be focused on.
Mr Kalam said his dream was a nation where agriculture, industry and service sectors worked in harmony and education was not denied to any candidate on account of societal or economic discrimination.
