ISRO to launch man mission in seven years: Madhavan Nair
Thiruvananthapuram, May 31 (UNI) Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman G Madhavan Nair today said ISRO was confident of successfully carrying out a manned mission to outer space within six to seven years.
Participating in ''space salute'', a programme organised by Asianet Malayalam TV channel in association with ISRO to felicitate the scientists, he said a detailed report in this regard had already been submitted to the Centre by the IRSO.
Dr Madhavan Nair said besides launching such programmes, the ISRO could also make remarkable progress in areas like tele-medicine, tele-education and village resources center.
Low-cost access to space, recoverable and reusable launch vehicles were also the other proposed missions of ISRO, he added.
Former President A P J Abdul Kalam also participated in the function.
