CPN(Maoist) leader Bhattarai to attend rally in Kolkata
Kolkata, May 31(UNI) Amid the celebration over the electoral success of Maoists and the fall of monarchy in the Himalayan kingdom, Communist Party of Nepal(Maoist) leader Baburam Bhattarai will attend a solidarity rally, organised by 13 Indian Left parties, here on June 23.
Invited by 'Solidarity Initiative for the Revolutionary Struggles of Nepal', a platform being dominated by different Naxalite outfits, Mr Bhattarai, the number two leader after CPN(Maoist) supremo Prachanda, will also meet a number of intellecuals and artists after his arrival in the city on June 22.
''The Nepal people have recently scored an important victory to achieve real democracy, bringing monarchy to an end. To celebrate their victory, we have organised the solidarity rally,'' Solidarity Initiative Convener Santosh Rana today said.
He said the underground Communist Party of Inida(Maoist) was also part of this initiative.
The parties, which had grouped together to build the platform, included CPI(ML) Liberation, PCC, CPI(ML), CPI(ML)ND, Mazdoor Krishak Parishad and the SUCI.
