New Delhi, May 30 : Tibetan students took out a rally on bicycles here today seeking attention towards their 'freedom struggle'.

Members of the All India Tibetan College Students Mass Movement with painted faces and Tibetan flags on the bicycles rode across the city expressing their distress and concern over the Chinese crackdown in Tibet.

Protesters said that the aim behind the bicycles rally is to send a message to the Chinese Government that they should have a result-based dialogue with the Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama.

"We are holding a cycle rally all round Delhi. Our main purpose is to instill a clear message to the Chinese Government that we want a concrete result based dialogue with his holiness Dalai Lama," said Tenzin Tharbo, Member, All India Tibetan College Students Mass Movement.

Protesters said that the younger generation would continue with their struggle for Tibet in a peaceful and non-violent manner.

Tibetans have been staging series of protests in the year of Beijing Olympics in an attempt to draw international attention towards their cause.

Chinese officials met envoys of the Dalai Lama recently in a bid to resolve the issue without much progress.

The talks took place a few months before Beijing hosts the Olympic Games in August and weeks after deadly riots in Tibet and the subsequent security crackdown that drew international criticism.
