SP MLA escapes to safety, relative dies in explosion

Jaunpur, May 30 (UNI) An explosion at Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Jagdish Sonkar's house claimed the life of his relative in Sarai Khwaja area here today.

Mr Sonkar is an MLA from Shahganj (reserved) constituency.

According to police, the lethal explosion that took place at Mr Sonkar's Kuttupur situated house killed his cousin.

The explosion was so intense that his room collapsed.

Meanwhile, the MLA alleged that the attackers hurled RDX to kill him. However, he was lucky to escape the attack escape and his cousin became the victim.

Investigation was underway.
