TN: Sand lorry kills couple travelling in Sumo

Kancheepuram, May 30: A couple was killed when a sand lorry hit the Tata Sumo in which they were travelling at Chinnayasatram on the Chennai-Bangalore National Highway in the early hours of today.

Police said Mohammed Usman (55) and his wife Fathima (50) were returning to Chennai from Vellore when the mishap occurred.

The Sumo driver, Kandavelu (25), who was seriously injured, was rushed to the government hospital here where his condition was reported to be critical.A search is on for lorry driver Ravi.
