Aarushi murder case: Talwar's 'pandit' grilled
Dehra Dun, May 30: Dr Rajesh Talwar, the prime accused in Noida double murder case, was today brought to Hardwar by the Uttar Pradesh Police who questioned his 'pandit' on the 'pind daan' (last rites) of Aarushi. The accused was brought to Hardwar around 0930 hrs amid tight security, sources said. The cops grilled Talwar's 'pandit' Upendra, who performed Aarushi's last rites, for over an hour. All this while, Dr Talwar did not utter a word to anyone, sources added. Police have left for Delhi, where the accused medico will be produced before a court later in the day.
Aarushi, a class IX student of Delhi Public School in Noida, was found in her bedroom with her throat slit on May 22. A day later, Hemraj, the Nepali help of the Talwar household, who was initially named as prime suspect by Noida Police, was found dead on the terrace. His throat was also slit in a similar manner. Aarushi's father, Dr Rajesh Talwar has been arrested for the murders of his daughter and domestic servant Hemraj in the sensational double murder case.Talwar was arrested on May 23 after being questioned by the Noida police. He made many contradictory statements to police during his questioning.
