Three of family commits suicide due to financial crisis

New Delhi, May 29 (UNI) A family of three allegedly committed suicide due to financial crisis in Sabzi Mandi area of north Delhi today.

Kusumlata Jain (57) was found dead, along with her sons Pramod (27) and Sachin (25), at their rented accommodation in Sabzi Mandi area this morning, according to police.

All three were lying and froth was oozing out from their mouths.

Later three glasses and a liquid bottle was recovered from a table in the room.

The matter came to light after the milkman found the front door of their first floor apartment ajar and getting no response. He alerted the landlord who called the police.

''No foul play is suspected but we have sent the liquid found in the room for laboratory tests,'' police said.

Kusumlata's two daughters -- Poonam alias Babli and Mona -- both married, also told about the family's financial crisis, police added.

Sources said the family was passing through tough times ever since the family patriarch Satish Jain, who owned a photo frame factory, died about a year-and-a-half ago.

Soon after, due to financial difficulties the factory and their house had to be sold and they came to live in Sabzi Mandi about eleven months back.

Both sons used to sell photo frames from a rented shop to make a living.
