Violent mob attacked BSP leader's house

Varanasi, May 29: An irate mob of locals today attacked ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national secretary and Jharkhand unit in charge Ram Raksha Pal's house over the death of a person in firing allegedly carried by his son in Chuppepur under the Shivpur police station area here.

According to SP D K Chaudhary, the issue snowballed late last night over laying of electric wires.

As per the allegations, the BSP leader's son and his gunner had opened fire, in which altogether four people were wounded and rushed to hospital in a critical state.

Of them, Bhagwan Das had succumbed on way to hospital.

The mob jammed a road and attacked Mr Pal's house.

The agitators also torched two four-wheelers and two bikes.

On getting the information, senior police officials rushed to the spot.

Meanwhile, seven people, comprising the BSP leader and his son, have been arrested, the SP added.

Police has also recovered arms from their possession.
