Criminal shot dead in police encounter in Kotwali

Bulandshahr, May 29: A hardcore criminal was gunned down during a fierce police encounter in Kotwali (dehat) area here last night.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Raj Kumar here today said Jatan Sirohi, presently incarcerated in jail here, was being brought from Delhi after a Court hearing.

However, four kilometers before Sikandrabad, two vehicles intercepted and opened fire on the police jeep and attempted to freed the outlaw from the clutches of the cops, he added.

In a retaliatory firing by police, Jatan became the target of a stray bullet, while his aides managed to run away.

The criminal was facing 47 heinous cases murder, loot and abduction against him.
