Spl Dy Collector, Attender arrested for taking bribe

Hyderabad, May 28 (UNI) Chitravathi Balancing Reservoir Unit -II Special Deputy Collector and an Attender at the unit in Pulivendula of Kadapa district were arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 for issuing a cheque of Rs 1,82,888 as land compensation in the name of the complainant's elder sister.

According to a release here, sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested Special Deputy Collector P Aswartha Narayana and attender D Venkata Subbaiah on May 26 in Ananthapur district and recovered the amount from them.

The accused would be produced before a Special Court in Nellore.
