Pak spy gets life in MP

Gwalior, May 28 (UNI) A local court today sentenced a Pakistani citizen to life imprisonment for espionage in military areas.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Meena Singh awarded the punishment to Abbas Ali for spying the Air Force Station, Gwalior and other military areas. Locals Amin Khan and Mohammad Shahid, who aided Ali, were sentenced to two years in jail and fine of Rs 1,000 each.

The prosecution said, on an Intelligence Bureau tip-off, police raided -- on March 3, 2006 -- a residence in the local Inderganj Police Station limits and arrested three people. Documents seized confirmed that the trio had passed on secret military information to Pakistan.
