MIL bags Rs 50 cr order from Volkswagen

New Delhi, May 28: Auto parts maker Minda Industries Ltd (MIL) today said it has bagged orders worth Rs 50 crore from Volkswagen for the supply of headlamps and rear combination lamps for its upcoming models in India and the global model being manufactured in Russia.

The company said in a statement that it will supply rear combination lamps units from its existing facility at Chakan in Pune. It is also in talks with other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for supply of headlamps.

Besides, the company is conducting feasibility studies for setting up a new lighting plant at Bawal in Haryana.

MIL expects the turnover from its lighting division to contribute from Rs 225 crore to Rs 250 crore will be in the top line in the next two years, the statement added.
