Legal literacy campaign organised in Shillong
Shillong, May 28 (UNI) Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority, in collaboration with the East Khasi Hills District Deputy Commissioner's office, had organised a legal literacy campaign recently in the district.
The objective of the campaign was to educate people, particularly those living in rural areas about the most common legal issues like Consumer Protection Act, Criminal Act, Motor Accident Claim Tribunal, Crime Against Women and Trafficking, Fundamental Rights and Entitlement to Legal Services including legal aid.
Additional Advocate General W H D Syngkon and state government pleader N R Laiphlang were present at the campaign and spoke to the people about the legal issues.
