CM objects to Andhra daily's remarks on Govt

Hyderabad, May 28: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today took strong exception to the reported remarks of the management of a Telugu Daily, which was attacked by alleged MRPS activists on May 26, that the Government was involved in the attack.

Addressing a press conference here, he said it was wrong on the part of the management to point a finger at the Government, which promptly condemned the incident and assured to take action against the culprits.

The Chief Minister condemned the management for writing in its paper that the Government was trying to purchase caste associations in the State. ''In the name of freedom of press, the paper should not write what they like. We should not hurt the feelings of others.

Newspapers should maintain self restraint,'' he added.
